What are the best forums / message boards for stock market, financial discussion and advice?
Q. What are the very best forums or message boards where I can post questions about stock market and investing related topics? Thanks in advance thanks, raysor any more?
Asked by m l - Fri May 21 10:27:39 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In general, the paid subscription sites are going to be better than the free ones. You'll have to learn for yourself though, trial and error, before you see all the problems and spam. Eventually you might even figure out that you can't invest your hard-earned money on the advice of a total stranger with no track record. Don't forget to use the Yahoo Answers search bar; this question is asked several times a day here, hundreds of answers

Are there any good forums or message boards for birth parents?
Q. I'm 16 years old and I just had my wonderful son on the 11th. I gave him up for adoption to the best family a birth mother could wish for. I hate to feel like I'm bothering them when I call but of course I miss my son. I have one friend who adopted her son but she is also a full time student and is busy a lot. Are there any good forums or message boards for birth parents?

What is the point of Yahoo message boards when the same can be achieved here in answers?
Q. In going to Yahoo message boards, I see no real difference in the service provided compared to Yahoo Answers.
Asked by Tinman12 - Sun Aug 30 18:51:52 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. According to Answers Help pages: Unlike a message board, where a thread of messages can continue indefinitely without ever getting resolved, the questions in Yahoo! Answers are resolved when a best answer is picked. After questions are resolved, members who have reached Level 2 can rate the Best Answer and everyone in the community can continue to share their opinions .

How could I make a website with chat rooms and message boards?
Q. I don't really know anything about making websites but I would like to make one where people can communicate through chat rooms and message boards. If this is too hard for a beginner how to I contact people who can help me out?
Asked by stillkickin242 - Wed Jul 30 17:50:07 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I used TinyPurpleGrapes.com to create my family home page and a few other sites. When you create a webpage you can turn on visitor comments so that visitors to your site can leave messages. You can control if they are visible immediately after they are posted or you can set it up so that you approve messages before people can see them. You can also control the sort order (newest to oldest or oldest to newest). I think its the only free website builder that does not display ads on your site. Here are a few sample sites including mine: It is very easy to use and has lots of great features like - Photo Albums - Visitor Comments - File Download Area - Color schemes to choose from - Member Only Content - Detailed Visitor Statistics… [cont.]

How does Yahoo deal with abusive posters on financial message boards?
Q. I have reported abusive posts on a couple Yahoo financial message boards (specific company's boards). Many of these posts are from the same accounts, over-and-over. Yahoo seems to deal with the post in about 24 hours. Does Yahoo ever remove the accounts that are responsible for the repeated abuse? Do they attempt to shut down this abuse based on the IP address from which they eminate? etc...?
Asked by lch_nh - Wed Oct 14 11:28:09 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. 1. are you being overly sensitive because someone disagrees with you & are you're playing TOS tag? if they get enough legit complaints from different users they'll simply delete the offending account. mostly they tell you to use the ignore feature to block posts by certain posters. to the best of my experience having multiple yahoo accounts, they don't block based on IP address.

ever experienced that you and your ex were acting in the same message boards accidently?
Q. It happens to me now. I am still mourning and ferocious about how the ex handled our relationship. I have been through most popular relationship message boards that Google can get telling my story and asking questions. Unfortunately, the ex seems showing up in the same forums. He started to tell his side of story as I did. Once I realized I stopped posting and switched to other forums. And the same thing happened again, he's there. Its really a small world! How do you handle situation like this? Will it get you into any legal issue?

A. I don't think there's a legal issue. I wouldn't know any other way to handle it than to move around where he isn't or stop telling the story online altogether for awhile.

Why do you require visa card info to sign a child up for yahoo to participate on message boards?

What will happen to the message boards after dec 19th?
Q. Yahoo! News is working on new ways for readers to comment on the news and participate in a discussion around it. While we work on our new community features, the message boards that have been linked from individual news articles will be taken offline Dec. 19. As currently set up, the Yahoo! News message boards allow a small number of vocal users to dominate the discussion. In addition, related discussions from similar news articles are not easily linked. Over the next few months, we plan to offer new discussion forums based on topics in the news and incorporating the latest features to foster a better discussion for all of our readers. So what will happen?

A. Probably nothing earth-shattering, except to those who have made the boards their lives. Everyone who is/was a regular will probably lay low 'til they figure out how things work, and then they'll figure out how to get back into their regular routines online. Personally, this move has been looong overdue from Yahoo. So many boards that showed contained old posts, yet you couldn't add a new post. Or, the rec function was often dysfunctional (like the trolls). And then, of course, there are the trolls...

I mean these people lie to everyone because they're desperate. And on the flip side, the Israelis are constantly being forced to use brute force in the face of people who harass them even when they do get what they want. So I am not surprised about the ranting. But truth of the matter is, there is no easy answer to that problem.
